OAXACA: VALLEY TO THE COAST

Located in the endemic-laden Southwest of the country, Oaxaca is Mexico’s birdiest state. With a large diversity of habitats, and highlands that straddle the divide between the Pacific and Atlantic slopes, Oaxaca boasts a list of nearly 700 species. Our trips focus on visiting two areas--the varied habitats around the Oaxaca Valley and the coastal dry forest and humid foothills around the town of Huatulco, which includes a pelagic trip!

Oaxaca is a historic (and safe!) region, with a unique culture, delicious cuisine, and incredible pre-Columbian ruins, making for a wonderful all-around travel experience.

Itineraries will be updated with plenty of time before the next departure. Our itineraries usually show minimal changes between years, but some substantive updates can occur as birding access and information evolves. For any specific questions regarding these trips, please contact us.
