Honduras is one of the most under-appreciated birding destinations in the Central America. It features some of the best aspects of the better-known countries to its north and south: stunning birding, wonderful birding lodges, and incredible Mayan ruins. But unlike those countries, we will see few other tourists. Among the top birds will be Resplendent Quetzal, Scarlet Macaw, Lovely Cotinga, and the endemic Honduran Emerald.

One of the avian highlights of this year's San Diego Bird Festival was Ridgway's Rail. Normally secretive and difficult to find, our sponsored field trips to the Tijuana Slough NWR were timed to match high tide, which can bring them out of dense cove
