The Dominican Republic: Endemic Jewels of Hispaniola

The Dominican Republic is a must-stop on the Caribbean birding circuit, with the possibility of encountering 30 endemic species. As is the case with many islands, the birds here are unique. This includes a monotypic family (Palmchat) and oddities like the Antillean Piculet. The island has a vibrant culture and an incredibly diverse range of habitats including high mountain pine forest, tropical and dry forest, and beautiful beaches.

This tour can be combined with our trip to Jamaica. You will receive a $300 discount and have a chance to see 60 endemic species if you join both tours!

Itineraries will be updated with plenty of time before the next departure. Our itineraries usually show minimal changes between years, but some substantive updates can occur as birding access and information evolves. For any specific questions regarding these trips, please contact us.
